I hope you all had a fabulous Easter. I know we enjoyed celebrating that Jesus came back to life with our family! After Easter though, we always have leftover Easter goodies. This activity will use some of those leftover goodies! So grab some leftover Easter grass and some jelly beans and get ready to learn!Â
How to Play:
-First, print and cut out the Jelly Bean Jumble printable. We played with multiple kids, so each kid got to pick their own jelly bean card. If you are playing with just one person, you can number the cards.
-Next, we got out jelly beans ready! Take 26 jelly beans and label each one with a Sharpie marker, with one letter of the alphabet. The jelly bean cards use lowercase letters and I wanted my group to practice matching lower and uppercase, so I labeled my jelly beans with uppercase letters.
– Then grab your containers and add some Easter grass and then a handful of jelly beans. Since we had five people playing I used several different containers so we didn’t have all the kids hovering around the same container!
– It was a nice day outside so we set the containers outside in the backyard, but you could easily play this inside too! I told the kids that we were going to see whose card got filled up first. They got to run through the yard and dig through the containers and find a jelly bean. They brought the jelly bean back to our jelly bean cards and found the match.
-Everyone continued finding jelly beans until all of them had been found and matched. We had fun seeing whose card got filled up first and working together to fill up every card!!
