Halloween Number Mats

Halloween Number Mats

These Halloween Number Mats have been a great way to help keep our Halloween excitement under control!!  Literally since the day he found out his preschool was having a trunk or treat, my son has been asking every day, “Is today my trunk or treat?”  He is so excited!  So as always, we are bringing that Halloween excitement into our learning time.

What You Need:

– Halloween Number Mats (Free at the end of this post)

– Candy

– Markers

How to Use Halloween Number Mats:

First, print off your Halloween Number Mats.  If you want to reuse these, I would recommend laminating these.  You will also want to grab some markers and some Halloween candy.  We used M&Ms.  You can use whatever you have on hand, just make sure it isn’t too large to fit on the mat.

There are three different things to do on these number mats.  First, your child can trace the number on the mat.  Remember that handwriting can be really challenging for preschoolers, so don’t be surprised if it doesn’t look perfect.  That’s okay!  They will get better with practice!

Now you get to use your candy!  You can fill the ten frame in so that it shows the number on that mat!  Finally, you can add the same number of candies to the Halloween bucket.  And if a few of those candies end of in mom’s mouth, that’s okay too!  🙂
