Letter of the Week Series- U is for Upside Down

Friends, if you follow me on Instagram, you know this has been a bit of a rough week for us!  My youngest got hand, foot, and mouth disease, and let me tell you it is no joke!  I will spare you all the gory details and just say there was a lot of crying and not a lot of sleep happening!

I don’t want to give anyone the impression that during times like this we just push on with everything as normal.  My little guy definitely got some extra episodes of Paw Patrol (the show he wants to watch on repeat right now!).  BUT, I have learned that it helps to have some simple activities for your non sick kids to do even in times of sickness.  Maybe it’s just my kids, but too much screen time gives them yucky attitudes which is not what I need when dealing with a sick sibling!!

So I am excited to share with you a simple letter activity you can use with your little one, even when things are a little crazy!  I have included the Uppercase Matching you see in the photos and also an uppercase to lowercase matching card.

What You Need:

-Free Upside Down Alphabet Printable (Free at the end of post for subscribers!)

-Alphabet Stickers- We used foam alphabet stickers like these, but you can use any alphabet stickers!

And that’s it!  I told you it was a simple activity!

How To Play:

– Print off the Upside Down Alphabet Printable and put all three pages in front of your child.

-Since we used foam stickers we just pulled a sticker out of the tub and found it’s upside down match!  If you are using stickers from a sticker sheet, I would recommend cutting the letters apart so they can’t just go right down the alphabet!

– Once you find the letter match, put your sticker on the box below!  Then grab another sticker and start again!

We are going on a 10 hour road trip with the kids and I think it will be perfect to pull out the lowercase matching version for her to do in the car.  Just grab a clip board and in the car I would use an Alphabet sticker sheet like this.  Let you child match away while you drive!

Are you ready to grab your own printable?  It’s free for all my newsletter subscribers, so sign up below and gain instant access to your printable!
