Preschool Easter Alphabet Activity
Easter is just around the corner and so of course I am here with a Preschool Easter alphabet activity. Your child will get to find the right carrots to feed their Easter bunny family and practice letter and sound recognition at the same time.
How should I use these alphabet games?
I create my games in a way that you can adapt them to use in many different ways. If you want to focus on just uppercase letter recognition, you can use the uppercase cards. If you want to practice letter sounds then simply ask your child to identify the sound instead of the letter. I know their are lots of voices out there telling us the “right” way to teach our child. But mom to mom, you know your child best. You know what is working for your child. My encouragement to you, mom to mom, is that any time you spend with your child learning and growing is time well spent. Whatever method is working for you, keep going!

What You Need:
– Easter Alphabet Bunny Families Printable (Free at the end of this post)
– Plastic Easter Eggs (optional)
– Laminator and Velcro Dots (optional)
How to Play:
First, let’s get this game prepped and ready to play!! Print and cut apart the larger bunny family cards and the smaller carrot alphabet cards. We actually laminated the sheets before cutting them out and then added velcro dots to the back of the alphabet cards and the square spaces on the larger cards. This helps if you want to have some durability to your activity!
You can really play this game in several variations. The idea is to match each bunny families letter order with their corresponding letter carrots. You can add some competition if you want and have players pick a few cards and see who has their orders completed first.
Let me tell you my original idea now…I was going to take the carrot cards and put them in some leftover plastic Easter eggs. Then I would hide the eggs all over the yard and my kids could take turns finding the eggs, opening them up and matching the carrot with the correct bunny family. BUT, as it turns out my hubby threw away the eggs I had saved from last year!
It also ended up being rainy outside, so we made the best of it and hid the carrot cards by themselves around our house. You could also use a sensory bin and put all the carrot cards in the bin and have your preschool dig around and find the cards before the match them up. You pick what works best for you!!
I have included uppercase, lowercase and beginning sound cards for you all too! So print, play, and don’t forget to post a pic and tag me if you do!! I love to see how you all are using my freebies!!
