Thanksgiving Pattern Activity

With a two year old in the house we are all about hands on activities like this Thanksgiving Pattern Activity.  My littlest has recently discovered his love for playdough!  He isn’t quite ready to fully understand patterns, but I definitely plan to use this activity to give him some exposure to color words!  And to just have some fun with playdough!

What You Need:

– Turkey Patterns Printable (Free at the end of this post)

– Scissors

-Playdough

-Colored crafts sticks or pipe cleaners

How to Use Turkey Patterns:

First, print off the turkey patterns cards and cut them apart.  Next grab some playdough and make a giant ball of playdough.  We used black, but you can use any color.  This ball will be your turkey body!

Now pick one pattern card and use your colored craft sticks or pipe cleaners to make a matching pattern on your playdough turkey!  We actually had THESE plastic boats and the were the same shape as the feathers so we used those!  You could really use anything that matches the colors!  You could use craft feathers too!

I have also included cards with simple AB patterns and also a second set with more advanced patterns too!  You can use whatever fits your child best!!
