Smores Number Mats

Smores Number Mats

These smores number mats are inspired by one of our favorite summer family activities…making smores!!  It may be part of a backyard campout.  Or it may be just because it is a beautiful evening.  We put our fire pit to good use every year!  And now your little smores lovers can get practice counting, using ten frames and writing numbers in this week’s subscriber freebie!

What You Need for Smores Number Matts:

Laminator or Dry Erase Pockets

Mini Marshmallows

Dry Erase Markers

How to Play:

Print the marshmallow number cards and the number mat.  Either laminate the number mat or stick it in a dry erase pouch.  We also made a little marshmallow sensory bin using cotton balls and marshmallows, but that is totally optional!

Grab some mini marshmallows and have your child pick one of the marshmallow cards.  Lay the card on the white square and then start creating that number on the ten frame!  After your child has created the number they can move to the bottom and write the number.  If this is a struggle for your child you can write the number first and have them trace over the numbers.

If your child is ready to move beyond the number 10, I have included a second number mat with a twenty frame.  And when your done don’t forget to eat a few marshmallows too!  🙂
