Umbrella Alphabet Activity

We are right in the middle of spring here and that means we have our fair share of rainy days.  Those rainy days inspired this umbrella alphabet activity!  This is a simple matching activity, and we love it for days when you need a few extra minutes to finish making dinner!  It is a great quiet and independent activity!

What You Need:

-Umbrella Alphabet Printable (Free at the end of this post!)

-Laminator and Laminating Sheets.  This is the laminator I use and I love these lamination sheets.  They are a great deal!

-Velcro Circles (These are what I used and are a good deal!)

How To Play this Umbrella Alphabet Activity:

First, print off the Free Umbrella Alphabet Printable.  Then I strongly recommend that you laminate it!  Cut apart the pieces and then you can add velcro dots to the back of each raindrop and the matching dot onto the square on each umbrella card.

Now you are ready to play!  Have your child set out all of the raindrops and then grab one umbrella at a time and find the raindrop with the matching letter.  To make sure you are practicing letter recognition, have your child tell you the name of each letter they find!

When your kiddo finds a match have them velcro the two pieces together, and continue looking for more matches!

And to help you out even more, I have made both uppercase and lowercase raindrops.  So you can match uppercase to uppercase or uppercase to lowercase.  Happy learning!
