Pumpkin Alphabet Trace

Pumpkin Alphabet Trace

This week’s Pumpkin Alphabet Trace Activity is in honor of my toddler.  He cannot wait until Halloween.  And being three, he doesn’t really have the best handle on time.  So every morning when he gets up, he says, “It’s Halloween!”  And I have to let him know that it is in fact not Halloween yet.  But since he is so excited about Halloween, I figured I could make a pumpkin themed activity that was sure to be a hit!!

What You Need for this Pumpkin Alphabet Trace Activity:

– Pumpkin Alphabet Printable (free at the end of the post!)

Scissors

-Markers

-Halloween Bucket (optional)

How to Play:

Print off the Pumpkin Trace Mat and the pumpkin alphabet cards.  Cut apart the alphabet cards, and grab a marker or pencil for your child to use.  If you want to add a little Halloween fun into this activity you can use a Halloween bucket too!

The first way you could play is to put all your alphabet cards into the Halloween bucket and let your child draw one out, identify it, and then find and trace the matching letter on your Pumpkin Trace Mat.

If your child is like mine though and is so excited to go trick or treating, you could turn this game into a little role play opportunity.  Give them the empty Halloween bucket and have them knock on a door in your house.  You can be on the other side of the door and when you open it they can practice saying, “Trick or Treat.”  You can then give them a pumpkin card to identify and find and trace the match.  Continue trick or treating until you have handed out all the pumpkin cards!!
