Preschool Made Easy | Sports Theme

We have more preschool at home fun for you with the Preschool Made Easy Sports Theme!  If you haven’t tried out the free Back To School Theme you can find it HERE.  It was fun to explore and talk about different sports and to see what sports my son is really interested in!  And I love that we can do these activities from home in 30 minutes or less a day!  So let me show you a few of our fun sports themed activities!  You can get the whole Sports Theme HERE.

#1- Count and Cover

The main goals for this theme are number recognition from 1-5 and letter recognition for letters A, B, C, D, E and F.  But as with all my themes I also give options to adapt each activity to make it more advanced if needed.  So this activity comes with both a 1-5 version and a 1-10 version.

Count and cover will help with one to one correspondence and number recognition.  Just pick a card.  Count the football themed pictures and cover the matching number on the recording sheet!

#2- Make a Baseball Team

We really loved this activity!  We are beginning to talk about ten frames here too.  Draw a ten frame card and count to figure out what number it represents.  Then pick the matching baseball kid and glue them on the matching number on the field.  The extra glue practice even gave us a little fine motor practice!

#3- Trophy Towers

Pull out the unifex cubes or legos for this one!  Build towers with the same number listed on each trophy.  Again, your child is getting practice with number recognition and one to one correspondence.  This is also a great opportunity for you to visually see the difference between different number amounts and compare different tower heights!

#4- Flip and Fill

We love learning through games!!  Race to fill your card first with this simple number game.  Flip over a card and fill the same number of boxes.  We used mini erasers, but you could use any small manipulative!  Each person continues taking turns flipping over a card and filling their card until someone fills up all 50 squares!

#5- Bowling Write the Room

Write the room activities are so great because they get your child up and moving!!  Post the bowling cards all over your house and let your preschooler loose to find and record each letter.  Three different versions are included, one with only A-E, one with all uppercase letters, and one with all lowercase letters.

#6- Golf Alphabet Bingo

Bingo is always a favorite game in our house and this alphabet bingo is no different!  Take turns being the caller and identifying the letters drawn.  First player to get five in a row wins!

#7-Sports Alphabet Sensory Bin

Grab your favorite sensory bin and add these sports themed alphabet cards.  Let your preschool find the cards one at a time and match them on the alphabet mat.  Laminate and add velcro dots to play over and over!

#8- Alphabet Sports Sensory Bin Puzzles

Keep that sensory bin out and add these puzzle pieces for even more learning and fun!  Find the letter on each puzzle piece and put it on corresponding square on the puzzle frame.  Match all the squares to make three sports themed pictures.

These 8 activities and more are included in the Preschool Made Easy Sports Theme!
