Preschool Apple Science
This preschool apple science activity is a classic activity the works for a wide age range. We used it for four o’clock fun! What is four o’clock fun? Well you see, I realized that four o’clock is the hardest and longest hour in our house. It is the last hour until dad comes home and the fighting and whining seem to be non-stop. So I decided to do something about it! I started planning a fun activity for my kids every day at four o’clock. The idea is to be intentional!Â

How To Play:
-We always like to start with a good laugh, so we started with our Apple Fill In Story. Ask your child for help with the fill in words. This is a great opportunity for older children to practice parts of speech too! If your child doesn’t understand those concepts yet, you or a sibling can provide those answers. Don’t worry there are plenty of simple fill in answers too! (numbers, places etc.) And don’t be afraid to let your children give silly answers. The goal is a silly story!
Next, you can begin your apple taste testing experiment! You can begin by introducing or reviewing the science word hypothesis. This means, what do you think is going to happen. Let your child make their hypothesis and share them!
Five Senses
Now you get to fill out the five senses chart. You can go through each of your senses and each child gets to decide which type of apple is the best for each sense. You can even talk about which apple sounds the best! I always have at least one kid what will play along and tell me their apples talk to them!Â
Finally end with the taste test and let your child decide which apple tastes the best. Talk about if their hypothesis was correct. This is also a great opportunity to talk about how God made us all different and we each have unique taste buds!Â
