Ice Cream Cone Relay

Four o’clock fun is back with this ice cream cone relay!!  My kids wish they could have ice cream every day in the summer.  While that won’t be happening, we can still keep the ice cream vibes going with this easy to set up ice cream cone relay!

What You Need:

Ice Cream Cones

Giant Pom Poms or Plastic Balls

Home Made Obstacle Course

Timer (We use a phone or tablet)

Two Boxes or Containers

How To Play:

First, you want to establish what your obstacle course will be.  It doesn’t have to be anything complicated!  We went down our toddler slide then across the yard and around the punching bag three times, then over to the swings and had to swing back and forth three times, and then back to the start.

The goal is to go through the obstacle course while balancing the ice cream cone with the pom pom or plastic ball in the cone.  We gave each player two minutes to get as many pom poms as they could from start to finish.  BUT, if they dropped a pom pom they had to start all over!

It was fun to see which kids wanted to take their time and make sure they didn’t drop the pom pom and which of my kids wanted to go as fast as they could, even if it meant dropping a few!  Then of course at the end, they all asked to eat the cone!

Even this little guy had fun cheering his siblings on and chomping on a cone!
