What You Need:

Summer Bingo Printable (free at the end of this post)

Mini Erasers

Laminator (optional)

Velcro Dots (Optional)

How To Play:

First, to play the traditional bingo game, just print and cut apart the bingo cards and picture cards.  Each player should pick a bingo card.  Each card has the same pictures on it, but in a different arrangement.

And I bet you know how to play bingo, but just in case….put all the picture cards in a bucket or basket and pull one out at a time.  Everyone will find that picture on their card and cover it with a mini eraser (or other small marker).  The first on to get five in a row wins.

The second way we have used this bingo game is to use it as a group incentive game.  I knew at the beginning of the summer that I wanted to focus on kindness with my kids.  And as much as we all want kindness to be an intrinsic value that flows naturally from our kids, the truth is that is not usually the day to day reality.  Sometimes we need some extra motivation to break bad habits and start new ones!

I printed and laminated two identical bingo cards.  One card I posted and the other I cut apart each bingo square.  I put Velcro dots on each bingo square on the card and on the back of the cut apart pieces.  Next, I told them whenever I saw someone showing kindness to one of their siblings they would earn a bingo square!  I posted all the cards in an envelope next to the big bingo card so they could reach in and draw a card at random.  When they got bingo they would get to agree on a reward like a no chore day, Sonic half price drinks, or an extra movie night!!
