Preschool Rainbow Alphabet Activity
This preschool rainbow alphabet activity would be perfect for St. Patrick’s Day or really any day! If you ask my kids they will tell you I love the boho rainbow trend. So everyday is a good day for a rainbow! And this activity is a fun way to play with your child while you are learning together!
So let’s get to it! Don’t forget to check out the end of this post for your own FREE download!!
What You Need:
– FREE Printable Rainbow Road Game Board and player cards (At the end of this post.)
– Dice. We use these big foam dice. They are great for little ones!
–Mini Erasers, Pom Poms, Unifex Cubes or any other small object to use as game pieces.
Â
How to Play:
First, print off you Free Rainbow Road Game Board and print and cut apart the player cards. Next, grab some mini erasers (or any small objects), a dice, and let each player choose one player card.
The goal of the game is to cover all of the letters on your card first! To begin playing, player 1 rolls the dice and moves on the game board. (You can start wherever you want on the board!) Make sure you have the player say the letter they land on! And if they don’t know the letter name, just tell them! Remember these games aren’t about getting every letter correct, but about giving your kids more exposure to the letters!
Â
After saying the letter name, the player should look for that letter on their card. If they find it cover it with a mini eraser!
Player two then repeats the same steps. Continue back and forth until one player has their entire card covered!
My sweet girl loved this game so much she asked her big sister to play with her again when she got home from school! A great review of the whole alphabet. You could also modify this game to have your child tell you the letter sound or a word that begins with that letter if they are ready for that added step!
