Ice Cream in a Bag
Have you ever made ice cream in a bag before? It is really unbelievably easy! I love that the kids get to actively help mix everything up and they physically feel the bag getting cooler. The recipe also only makes a small amount so you don’t have gobs of ice cream in your freezer for the next week! Even if you have done this before make sure you keep reading as we added an extra ice cream themed logic puzzle you can work through with your elementary aged kids!Â

How To Play:
First, I would go ahead and make your ice cream! You will take your quart sized zip freezer bag and add in your ice cream ingredients: heavy whipping cream, sugar, vanilla, and optional chocolate chips. After you add the ingredients seal the bag.
Now you will take your gallon sized zip bag and add in your rock salt and ice. Put the quart sized bag with all your ingredients into the gallon bag and then seal the gallon bag. So the smaller bag is sealed itself, but is also sealed inside the larger bag.
Now comes the fun part! You get to mix it up! I have three big kids so we took turns mixing the bag with our hands for one minute each. It was fun to hear them talk about how cold their hands were at the end! At the end of 10 minutes of mixing take the small bag out and scoop your ice cream into bowls! Yum! Â
While you are eating, you can enjoy our ice cream themed logic puzzle! If you have never done a logic puzzle with your kids, it’s a good idea to walk through it together. Once they get the hang of it, they will be hooked!!
