What You Need for Halloween Alphabet Bats:

– Halloween Alphabet Bats Printable (free at the end of the post!)

Scissors

-Markers

-Vecro Dots (optional)

How to Play:

Print off the Alphabet Bats first.  You will want to cut each bat apart and depending on how you want to use them you may want to cut each bat in half on the black line.

Option #1- You can use these as a traditional two piece puzzle.  Cut each bat in half and mix all the pieces up.  Have your child match the uppercase and lowercase letters sides to make a match.  Use as many or as few cards as you want as you work with your child!

Option #2- I have also included a version that has the uppercase letter on the left side, and the right side is blank.  You can use this as a base which can often make puzzles easier for young children.  Add a velcro dot to the blank side and your child will have an easy place to stick the matching lowercase letter.  You could add the lowercase cards to a sensory bin or even hide them around your house to make a letter hunt!

Option #3- The final way you could use this freebie is to practice writing letters!  For this option you will print the version with the uppercase letter on the left and the blank right side.  Do not cut the sides apart for this option.  Then let your child pick a bat card and then practice writing the letter they see on the blank side.
