We are going to do some golfing in today’s activity. But don’t worry, you don’t really need any real golfing skills for this one. Trust me, I wouldn’t do that to you! Once upon a time I thought it would be fun to go to the driving range with the hubs. We were just engaged then and he liked golfing so I thought it would be a fun couple thing to do. I was wrong. I couldn’t get that ball to go any kind of distance dispite my best efforts. So now I stick to put put. But today’s activity will get your kids active and learning without needing to be expert golfers!
How to Play:
– First print and cut apart your Alphabet Golf cards. Then put them all into a bucket or basket.
– Next, label each “golf” ball with a letter of the alphabet. We were practicing matching uppercase and lowercase, so we wrote uppercase letters on the balls, but you can do whatever is best for your child!!
– Once your balls are labeled you will want to take them outside and spread them all over your yard. If you have access to a big gym you could do that too!
– Now let your child draw an Alphabet Golf card from the bucket. Their job is to run around the yard and find the golf ball with the matching letter and then hit it with their kid golf club!
It doesn’t matter where they hit it. Just let them have fun hitting the ball! We actually played this with a group and they just took turns with the golf club. When we were done they made up their own game rolling the balls down the slide and saying their letter names!
