If you have been following along for a while you have probably noticed we started in the middle of the alphabet!  When I started this blog, I was already midway through working on the alphabet with my preschool daughter.  I decided to just start where we were on the blog!  But now that we made it all the way through Letter Z, it’s time to go back to the beginning and share some activities for the first half of the alphabet!  So let’s get started with A!

What You Need:

– Alphabet Awards Printable (FREE for subscribers at the end of this post!)

-26 Stuffed Animals (If you don’t already have a billion stuffed animals like we do you could grab a pack like THIS.)

Blank Address Labels

How to Play:

– First print off your Alphabet Award Printable off and cut apart each award.  Lay them out on the table face up so your child can see all the letters.

– Next, label 26 blank mailing labels and write one letter of the alphabet on each.  Then grab your 26 stuffed animals and put one label on each of them.

-Now, tell your child that all of their stuffed animals have won awards!  Their job is to make sure the right stuffed animal gets the right award!  Let your child take one stuffed animal at a time and match the letter label on the stuffed animal with one of the award card.  My daughter decided to peel the label off the stuffed animal and match it on the award card and we went with it!

– We made our labels in lowercase letters so we could be begin to practice matching uppercase to lowercase, but if you kiddo isn’t ready for this then just stick to one kind of the other!

And don’t forget to have fun coming up with the names of these awards!  We had a Cutest Stuffed Animal award, a Biggest Stuffed Animal Award, and a Best Unicorn Award, just to name a few!
