Preschool Birthday Count and Graph

This preschool birthday count and graph came about because this month is all about the birthdays in our house.  My mom and I have birthdays right together and then a week later my baby boy is turning one!!!  I can’t believe my last baby is really no longer a baby.  If you need me I will be crying in the corner. 🙂  But really, I figured since we spend a lot of family time celebrating this month, that we would celebrate on the blog with a birthday themed activity too!!

How To Play Birthday Count and Graph:

– First, print off your FREE Birthday Count and Graph printable.  There are two different versions of this activity depending on what you want to focus on with your child.  First up is the traditional count and graph version.  I suggest using a different colored marker for each object and circling them in that color.  Then count your total and color that many boxes in below.  This is an easy and effective way to introduce a bar graph!

Option number two is just a simple counting and comparing activity.  Again you will be counting the objects, but instead of graphing you are writing the number in.  If your child can’t write their numbers independently, they could use tally marks or circles to show how many.  Then they get to compare and answer the questions about most and least.  Those are great math vocabulary words to be introducing to your child.

So if you are looking forward to birthday at your house, enjoy some extra birthday learning fun with us!
