Free Turkey Bump Game

I know I am looking forward to some extra time with my kids home on Thanksgiving break, and this free turkey number bump game is one of the activities on our list to do!  We LOVE games of all kinds in our family!  They teach social skills and often give the opportunity to learn or review different skills!  So keep reading to see how this game will give your preschool student the chance to practice counting all while you enjoying playing together.

What You Need:

Turkey Bump Printable Game (Free at the end of this post)

Math Cubes or other small manipulative

Dice

How to Play:

First, print off your Turkey Bump Game.  If you have never played bump before here are the directions.  Two players take turns rolling the dice.  Whatever number is rolled they can put a cube on a turkey with the same number of feathers.  If you roll a number and your opponent has it covered, you can remove it and put your cube on.  If you roll a number that you have covered, you can add a second cube and lock that spot.  Once a spot is locked with two cubes those cubes cannot be removed.  The person with the most locked turkeys at the end of the game wins!

Two Versions

Also, I have made two different versions of this bump game too!  The first has numbers 1-6 and would use one dice.  If your preschooler is ready for some basic addition you can use the second version which has numbers 1-10 and would use two dice.  To play the second version you would roll both dice, add them together and then cover the turkey that matches the sum.  For this version, if you roll an 11 or 12 you can cover any of the turkeys.  Those rolls are basically like a wild card you can use on any turkey you want.

We have had so much fun with various bump games at our house and this one is no exception.  I hope it brings a little fun and joy to your house as you celebrate Thanksgiving this year.
