Letter M Activities- M is for Magnifying Glass

I originally did these letter M activities to prepare my second born daughter for preschool.  I had so much fun creating games for each letter of the alphabet, and it was great accountability to make sure I was consistently working with her.  Well fast forward, and now it is my son’s turn to be learning his letters before preschool next year!  But this time I am also weeks away from having baby #4, and with the extra kids I watch, I have 6 kids in my house every day.  Let’s just say my ability to create brand new activities is a lot more limited!  BUT, I am so thankful I already have so many great activities I can pull from and do again!  This week’s activity is on my list for us to do again this week with my son, and I can’t wait to see him use his detective skills to find some letters!

What You Need:

– Magnifying Glass Letter Find Printable (Free at the end of this post)

-Markers

-Play Magnifying Glass

How to Play:

-First, you want to print your Magnifying Glass Letter Find Printable.  Grab a marker or other writing utensil, and find your play magnifying glass.  We actually got ours at the Dollar Store, but you can also find them on Amazon if you’d rather shop from the comfort of your home!

-Tell your child that you lost some letters in each of the rooms on their paper and you need their help finding them!  Give them the magnifying glass, the paper with the 8 room scenes and let them search the rooms!

– When they find a missing letter, they can tell you what letter they found and use the Magnifying Match tracker to circle the letter.  Make sure they circle it in the box that matches the numbered room (Ex.  Room 5 is circled in the box labeled 5 on the tracker.)

– Let them continue to search until they have found all the missing letters.  There should be 3 or 4 letters in each scene.  Then let your little detective loose to solve their own mysteries around your house!
