We are jumping into letter K week with a hands on matching activity.  This would be a great fit for classroom centers or for a busy bag to grab and take with you when you need to keep your kiddo busy and quiet!

What You Need:

– Jewel Writing Alphabet Printable (Free at the end of this post)

Craft Jewels

– Scissors

How to Play:

-First, you will want to print your free Alphabet Keys printable.  I recommend laminating them and then cutting them out.  We have had this laminator for years and love it!  I also don’t waste my money on name brand laminating packets!  We use these and love them!

-After everything is laminated and cut apart you will want to put velcro dots on each key and the other half on each house.

– Now it’s time to let your child go!  We put our keys in a big pile and my girls each drew a house and looked through the pile for the matching key.

– I told them only one key will unlock the house!  The matching uppercase and lowercase set will unlock the house!  This kind of game is great because they can always do the letters they are confident in first, and by the time they get to the ones they may struggle with more, they will have less choices and be more able to find the correct answer!

You can grab your own copy of Alphabet Keys when you become an email subscriber!  Just enter your information below and then look for the pink download button.
