I can feel the end of the school year craziness starting to creep into our schedule already. We have two kids starting their soccer season this week, dance and piano recitals coming up and end of the year dinners and celebrations all on the horizon! I know we are going to need some easy learning activities like this one to help us through these busy weeks ahead! I hope it will help you too!! Â
What You Need:
– Alphabet Insects in the House Printable (Free at the end of this post)
– Mini ErasersÂ
– Bucket or Basket
–Â Scissors
How to Play:
-Print, and cut apart your Insects in the House game boards and playing cards.
-Give one game board to each player and put all the insect cards into your bucket or basket.
– The scenario behind the game is that insects are trying to invade the house. You want to help keep the house clean and smash those insects! The first person to smash four insects will be the winner!
– Players will take turns drawing an insect card from the bucket. If they have the matching letter on their board they get to smash that insect! I had them put a mini eraser on the letter and they loved smashing it with their fist! If they don’t have that letter on the board, then put it back in the bucket.
-Their are two special cards included in the game also. If you draw a Clean House card you get to pick any letter on your board and smash it to make sure your house stays clean! If you get an Insect Attack Card, you have let your house get too dirty and you loose one of your previously smashed spaces. Make sure you put the corresponding insect card back in the bucket when this happens. Â
