Letter of the Week Series- Letter P

Pizza! Yum!! One of my family’s favorite treats is pizza so I knew when we got to letter P week I would need to work in some pizza fun! Our pizza play dough was a perfect combo for learning and pretend play! And as a bonus, little brother was occupied the whole time making his own playdough creations!
To play you will need:
–Play Dough Alphabet Stamps (or some kind of alphabet stamp you are okay getting play dough on!)
-Printable Alphabet Pizza Cards (free for subscribers at the end of this post!)
To learn and play:
First you will want to print and cut apart your Pizza alphabet letter cards (see below).
Next, get out your playdough stamps! I got these on a whim a few years ago, and they have been so fun! They really can be incorporated in so many different educational ways!
Once you have your supplies ready it’s time to start your pretend play! Your kiddo can be the waiter or waitress adn the pizza chef! My daughter loved seating me at the table and asking for my order. I picked one of the pizza cards and gave it to her as my order. She got to go whip up my yummy pizza next!
We have so many different play dough untensils and molds we have collected over the years, but they are totally optional in the activity! You can use your hand to flatten the dough and then just use the stamp! BUT if you are looking for some cute playdough accessories I think THIS pizza set is so stinkin’ cute!!! The little pizza box included just puts it over the top into crazy cute territory in my opinion!
After your little one has their pizza formed they get to find the letter stamp that matches your order and stamp it down! And your pizza is ready to be served!!!
I love to have my daughter tell me my order when she is serving me. “Here is your Y Pizza Mommy!” This gives them one more opportunity to build that alphabet memory! And as always, if your child doesn’t know a letter, just help them out! These games are more about building exposure to the alphabet then testing your child’s memory. If you do lots of alphabet activities your child will begin to remember on their own! Just have fun!!
