D is for Dance- Letter D Activity

I am back on the blog this week! If you follow me on Instagram, you know I took last week off, because unfortunately I experienced my 5th miscarriage last week. We are so sad to be walking this road again, and I have cried so many tears over the last two years. I cannot understand this in my mind, but I know God is a good and loving God. I choose to trust him in the things I don’t understand. On to happier things now…like dancing!!! A dance party can turn our day around! So this week’s Letter D activity is a super simple dance game!
What You Need:
– Alphabet Dance Printables (Free at the end of this post).
OR Alphabet Magnets or Foam Letters like THESE
-Music- We especially like to dance to THIS or THIS or THIS, but anything you and your child love will work!
– A bucket or cup to put your cards in.
How to Play:
– Print and cut the alphabet dance cards. Or if you have alphabet magnets or foam letters you can use those too. We wanted to work on lowercase letters, so we used the dance cards! Whatever you choose to use, put all the cards or pieces into your bucket.
-Then start the music and let them dance! After they have been dancing for a bit, pause the music.
-When the music stops have your child come draw a dance card and tell you what letter is on the card. I had both my kids come draw a card, and my daughter just identified both cards! Extra exposure for the toddler and practice for my preschooler.
Keep playing until all the cards have been drawed and letters have been indentified! This game is low prep and perfect for these winter days you need to get some movement in for your little ones!
