Sunshine Alphabet Activity

We are down to two weeks of school left here and I can’t think of anything better than this Sunshine Alphabet Activity to help us get excited!  Long days with lots of outside time are just within our grasp!  So let’s get to to some fun summer loving learning!

What You Need:

– FREE Sunshine Printable (at the end of this blog post)

-Clothes Pins Labeled with each Letter.  You could use regular clothes pins, but these yellow ones make it so much cuter!

–Cardstock paper or Laminator with Laminating Sheets

How to Play this Sunshine Alphabet Activity:

First grab your clothes pins and label one for each letter of the alphabet.  We were still working on capital letter so I stuck with matching uppercase to uppercase, but if your child is ready for more of a challenge, you can put lowercase letters on your clothes pins and have them match lowercase to uppercase letters.

Print out and cut out your FREE Sunshine Printable.  I have included three versions…uppercase, lowercase, and beginning sounds.  You can print whichever version is right for your your child!  You will need to print this on cardstock or laminate it in order for your kiddo to be able to clip the clothes pins on.  Let me just say, if you haven’t invested in a laminator yet, I highly recommend it!  Besides the fact that laminating just makes me happy, it really helps games and activities be used for years to come!

Once you have your clothes pins and Sunshine Printable ready let your child pick a clothes pin and find the matching letter on the Sunshine Printable!!  Once they find the match, clip it on!

Not only does this practice letter or sound recognition, but this also gives your child that much needed fine motor practice as they clip the clothes pin on!
