I saved my favorite Letter P activity for last!! My little girl is such a girlie girl I of course had to incorporate a princess into our letter P week! I couldn’t resist the double P fun in the classic story the Princess and the Pea.
Here is what you will need:
-Princess and the Pea Printable (free at the end of this post)
-Cardstock Paper. I am fond of these pretty colored ones
-Scissors
-Glue Stick- We got some of colored glue sticks like these from Grandma and they have been a big hit!!!
Step 1- Print off the Princess and the Pea Printable
Step 2- Cut out the big block of letter in one big piece. Then cut about 2/3 down each horizontal line, creating a flap that can be lifted back.
Step 3– Flip the paper over and put glue along the 1/3 that you did not cut.
Step 4- Flip your paper over onto a piece of cardstock paper and press the glued area down. Repeat these steps with each letter group until you have a pretty pile like this!
Make sure you have the princess and pea clipart cut out also, and then you are ready for the fun part!!
Have you little one close their eyes while you take the pea and hide it behind one of the letter flaps.
When it’s time to guess have your kiddo say the letter name they think the pea is hiding behind first, and then lift the flap to see if the pea is there! Keep playing your way through each alphabet group. You can take turns hiding and guessing with your little one too!
