Free Preschool Christmas Letter Recognition Game

I am ready for the Christmas season!  Who doesn’t need a little Christmas love in this crazy year!!  So with the Christmas feeling, I have a free preschool Christmas letter recognition game for you this Christmas season!  These are a great no prep activity for these busy December days.  Print, grab a dice and some mini erasers or math cubes and you are ready to go!!

What You Need:

– Christmas Roll and Cover Printable (Free at the end of this post)

– Dice- We love THESE big kind

Mini erasers or other type of small objects.

Markers (optional)

How to Play:

First, print off your Christmas Roll and Cover printable.  There are several pages so you can practice each letter of the alphabet.  I have also included both uppercase and lowercase versions. I would recommend not doing all at once though!  🙂  Grab your dice and your mini erasers too!

Next, your child will roll the dice.  Use the key at the bottom of the sheet to find the letter that corresponds with the number rolled.  Then let your child find a matching letter on the main page and cover it with a mini eraser.  Continue until all the letters are covered!

If your child really likes competition you could take turns with them and have a race to see who can cover more!  I also included black and white copies so if you could also roll and color instead.  Grab some markers and have your child color the corresponding Christmas object instead of covering it.

One more thing I included was a worksheet without any letters added in yet.  I wanted to give you the option to work on whatever specific letters you may be focusing on with your child.  For example, we have been working on learning the letters in my son’s name so we when we used this activity I wrote those letters in the key and by each object.

So pick the version that works for you and have fun!!  Wishing you all a very merry Christmas!!
