Five Little Monkeys Rhyme Game.
I made this Five Little Monkeys Rhyme Game with my toddler in mind! One of his favorite books is Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed by Eileen Christelow. He loves it so much on a recent trip when we stayed in a hotel we found him picking up the room phone, shaking his finger and saying “Doctor, no, no, no, no.” So this week we are extending the theme from the book into a rhyming activity.

What You Need for Five Little Monkeys:
– Five Little Monkeys Rhyme Game (free at the end of the post!)
– Scissors
–Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed by Eileen Christelow
–Velcro Dots (Optional)
How to Play:
Print off the Five Little Monkeys Rhyme Activity. Cut out the monkey cards. First, I would recommend reading the book! It is a quick read and a classic nursery rhyme! After you read the book you can show your child all of the bed mats. Identify the pictures in the corner of each mat.
Set out the mats and let your child pick a monkey card. Identify the picture on each card and let your child decide which mat has a word that rhymes with the picture on their card. Then have your child place the monkey on that mat! If your child is having trouble finding the correct rhyme, you can go through the mats together. Say the words one right after the other so your child can hear them and more easily decide if the words rhyme. Continue until all the monkeys have been placed on a mat.
There should be one mat with five monkeys, one with four monkeys, one with three, two and one. You could also laminate these and add velcro dots so you can play over and over!
