Alphabet Exercises

Alphabet exercises are the perfect fit as our days start to turn colder!  I know you mommas in the south may not quite understand this, but winter can be BRUTAL when you are stuck inside day after day with little ones!!  We know little bodies need lots of movement!  We have six people in our family and we don’t live in a huge house so that doesn’t equal lots of open space.  So we have to be a little more creative about our movement.  And that is how alphabet exercises was born!

What You Need:

– Alphabet Exercise Printable (free at the end of this post)

-A big open space

-A bucket or basket of some sort

How to Play:

-First, print and cut out your Alphabet Exercise Cards.  Put all the cards in a bucket or basket and let your child pick one out.  They can identify the letter name or sound or both!  Then let them do the exercise on the card.

– You may have to explain the move or demonstrate how to do a few exercises first.  My best advice is to not get too caught up in the “right way” to do an exercise.  As long as they are moving their bodies you are achieving your goal!    We enjoyed playing some music while they did their exercise and then they stopped when I stopped the music!
